About the event

Workshop Introduction: 

  • Teaching your child how to handle situations that can make you, your child or others feel awkward will happen many times in their young lives. 
  • Understanding how to address issues of race, religion, sexuality, poverty and body differences makes a big difference in how your child will see the world and the people in it.
  • Research shows these issues should be addressed starting very young to help children see the world in the most real way possible and develop empathy, compassion and acceptance for all.

Speaker:

  •  Jolene Tollett,M.Ed.is Montessori teacher with eleven years experience in the classroom. she began creating her own curriculum as an intern and refined it over the years of teaching early childhood students.  She has extensive experience in private and public Montessori classrooms.Other accomplishments include presenting at the American Montessori Society National Conferences three times with her curriculum.She is certified by the state of Texas and American Montessori Society
